Accepted

Well, for whoever is interested, an offer was made on a house, they countered. We countered their counter. They liked our counter. So Rob says we're 1/4 the way there. If all goes according to plan we close April 30.

Today we went to look at the Algood house. I actually kinda liked it. It felt better inside. I don't know if it was just the not worrying about the current owners being in there and the current owner's stuff still there, if it's just because it was a bigger house, or a number of other things.

The bedrooms looked to be decently sized. Each one had a ceiling fan. The "master" bedroom had a half bath inside which Rob thought was just weird. and I guess I agree. I mean especially for us that it's just the two of us. But if you think about the fact it's a 3 bedroom house. So there is potential for other people living there who may need to bathe or shower. It would work better to have the tub in a more central location than the only tub in one person's bedroom.

Rob had me sit in the tub. It was about the same size as our apartment bathtub if not smaller. The bathrooms were tiny.

The building out back was huge. And the deck is nice. And I like the colors that are already there so there wouldn't need to be as much immediate work. It has one of those split range top and oven things. The oven is in the wall and the range is next to it. Kinda cool. And it already has the fridge Rob likes.

Also, Rob got approved for 10 more hours a week starting June 1. So, once he gets me the full data I am to email the mortgage lady to get numbers reworked.

Something I'm kind of struggling with is that I kind of feel like we should look around and see what other kinds of deals we can get on a mortgage, and then again, I'm thinking we got a pretty decent deal from SunTrust. It wasn't an employee deal or anything. Just a 1st time home buyer deal.
But with the hours we work (me not getting off until 4:30, him not until 6 on MWF) it makes it difficult to go to banks. I don't necessarily want to go and do this stuff any more by myself. But I don't want everything left to Rob to do on Tuesday and Thursday.

Maybe if I can get notes on what is usually asked for (income amounts, recent jobs, Rob's ssn etc) I could go on Wednesday and check a couple places. I just don't even know what banks to go to. I kinda think some of the small local ones might be a good idea. But then again, I dunno.

Anyway, 'twas a pretty good day. I really felt a lot more comfortable at the Algood house.

tomorrow's gonna be awesome. I will be off the phone and getting paid for it from 10 - 12:30, then on lunch from 12:30 -1. Then back off the phone for 15 minutes at 2:15. We were doing a game or contest or something last month to get 'admission' to a movie while on the clock. The movie is Twilight and tomorrow's my day. And I also have a team meeting right after the movie. So fun times.

Today I found out that I have 14 booked products. 2 of which were mortgages that just booked today. I'm super stoked about those. I'm just hoping the last two I need drop into place!! *crossing fingers* I need 16 in order to get paid for booked products.

well I guess that's everything for now.

House hunting

So, Rob and I have started trying to find a house.

Today we went to look at/drive by two of the houses we're thinking about now. There is one in Algood which I liked the neighborhood. It seemed quiet and open and nice. And I like the pictures of the house. Very interested in getting to go inside. And then there was one which I just couldn't get over. It was what started the whole looking for a house thing and even though I keep having people try to discourage me on it, it keeps coming up. Like I KNOW its a bad idea, but dang it I just keep going back.

The agent says that the 2nd one, the one I can't get outta my head, the owner won't let anyone tour it until there is a signed sales contract. Uh...huh? yeah. It's a rental property and he is afraid if someone tours it, his tennants will move out. Uh... kay? So we just slowly drove by it just to get a feel for the area.

It's very much in town. which has its benefits and its disadvantages. It felt... cluttered... and noisy... And I just don't think i would feel as at ease there. Maybe that will be enough to get me to get over it?

Of course there was the disappointment of the other one we drove out to see the outside of that was the repo and already in a bidding war.

We did tour one house, but the owners were still there. And it was so awkward. It was an elderly couple, the woman disabled. It was sooo... nick nacky... and cluttered. and claustrophobic feeling. And I just felt so bad for them. The man said that they really hate to let it go, but they just can't keep up with it any more. I know that buying it would probably help them more than making them stay there longer in a house they can't keep up. but still. it was awkward. And knowing that since there was wall paper everywhere the wall paper would have to be stripped before anything else could be done and it was old lady wall paper... Where as with a house that is just painted if you don't like it, you can just re-paint it. But the owner did say that the city is planning on piping natural gas, sewage lines and going to put in sidewalks this summer. So that would definitely be nice. And it seemed like a good neighborhood. I liked the location. And the yard was completely fenced via neighbors fences. :)

The Algood one had decent colors and was painted and already had at least the fridge Rob wanted if not the stove too. We'd have to see the inside to see if we could find a place for a cat genie. But in the back I think i could do a clothes line. At least on the deck. Though it was weird that there wasn't a door directly to the deck. You go out a side door into the car port and then go around.
Some places say it's a single bathroom, some say bath and a half. It had a storage shed in the back that looked decent enough and a dog run. Not that we'd need a dog run, but you know.

I think the Algood one is my new favorite. And it's not far to get right on 111 which is straight to work.

I finished all the Twilight books. I very much enjoyed them. For now I'm toying with eReaders on the iPhone. I don't think I'm ready to give up real books yet. Also the books I have on my ereaders are primarily older/public domain things and haven't really gripped me. Though I've read several pages of "The Time Machine" by HG Wells...

I'm really tired and achey right now so I think I'm gonna go.

Ovar

So after a lot of thought and heartache, I decided to quit "She Stoops to Conquer." I just had a bad feeling about doing it, and there were too many other concerns that were going on around the same time.

So, I emailed the director last night and told him I was backing down. And then a couple hours later I just started bawling about it because I've never really quit a show before and I really had been looking forward to working with him and the others in the cast. It was an excellent cast.

Oh well.
